The promotion of reading of the Foundation is primarily earmarked for the users of each of our centres, but we also seek to disseminate knowledge learned by working since 1985 in this field. The transfer is done through the reports and studies that are published along with the training for professionals we deliver.

Our promotion of reading shows a contemporary approach to the concept of literacy as a crucial tool for citizens both in a professional environment and leisure activities. We also take into account that access to culture and information contents is now fully immersed in digital technology that enables and underpin literacy in our society.

Our activity in this area also aims to improve the value of quality readers and their strategic importance in the society. Thus our work aims to encourage positive social and political attitude for reading and among managers of public policies as a means to promote fair access to knowledge. Promoting reading works in Fundación Germán Sánchez Ruipérez as its fundamental stake. This axis for our action varies according to the specialty of each centre in the Foundation:
 
- Reading at early ages in CILIJ
- Reading as a community joint undertaking in the CDS
- Reading and technologies in the CITA
- Evidence about the reality of reading in society in the DAE
