"Reading is closing your eyes and feel that words are well inside you" told us some years ago a Salamanca schoolgirl. Since its first steps the Foundation has been interested in working in the educational system as the crucial soil to lay the seeds of a reading society. The centres of the Foundation regularly work with numerous schools in activities to encourage reading and reinforce literacy, always with innovative approach procedures. One of our permanent lines of interest is the school library as the heart of the reading strategy of schools, providing wide range of books and multimedia resources to support teaching and learning throughout the curriculum, and foster a reading and information culture that promotes independent motivated readers.

The actions of the Foundation in this area relate to:
- Studies and reports (see Digital Resources and Publications) 
 - Young and children information literacy skills training strategies at Peñaranda de Bracamonte and Salamanca libraries 
 - Advocacy for school libraries Programs 
 - Programs to Provide ICT implementation strategies at school
 
The Foundation also develops projects such as the Digital School Library providing quality on line contents, on line training support and courses for teachers and the annual Children's and school libraries Workshop.

Learning to read and reading for learn this could be the motto in the new environment of the knowledge society.
