Fundación Germán Sánchez Ruipérez believes that society will only be fair when everyone can access and understand the cultural content. Literacy is the most important tool to reach that goal and to contribute more to society as free citizens. We believe that every person is entitled to a quality library service and every pupil to an effective school library provision.

The Fundación Germán Sánchez Ruipérez work aims to empower readers through various actions:

-       Projects to promote reading designed with an evidence-based policy

-       Training, seminars and meetings for professionals

-       Publications

The Foundation creates and implements its strategies to promote reading in the own centres. The data provided on the outcomes of each performance supplies a basis for research and experimentation. The first actions are delivered to users of each of our centres, but also for the dissemination of results through the reports and studies published and training programs for professionals.
The Foundation genuine target are the readers and their actions linked to the process of a creative and high quality reading. This policy is carried out working with a very broad concept of literacy and therefore integrating all types of content and media. We believe that understanding literacy as a human right is achievable only with the commitment of the entire society, supporting professionals and empowering to the library and school.
