The Foundation considers literacy skills a fundamental tool for learning and harnessing ICT at classrooms the most useful strategy nowadays for access to knowledge. This policy is implemented by means of the creation of the International Centre for Advanced Technologies. The most important effort is made in training courses addressing teachers, other professionals and students (see section on Training). Some of the surveys on the impact of ICT in the field of reading and education are available in Digital Resources section or digital publications.

The new field of activity -started in 2006- is an outcome of the core principle held from its beginnings by the Foundation concerning the approach to learning process which should engage, challenge and motivate learners. Within this framework the basic tool are the literacy skills that underpin effective learning and teaching.

The phenomenon of widespread use of ICT devices is considered by the Foundation as a great chance to enhance access to reading and writing among the youngest generations.
